  • The Itch

i'm at work and itching all over, thanks to my encounter with a school of tiny red/pink jellyfish at the sea in west sumatra where i snorkeled this past weekend.  now my whole body, from ears to feet, sparsely covered by red bumps that look like i've been attacked by fire ants

i should be pleased that i just returned from a great weekend getaway trip but currently too pissed to think that i can't even stand to look at my own body, now that it is covered by annoying red dots.  due to this condition, i have to decline an invitation from a bunch of friends who's going for another weekend getaway this weekend.  the only plus side to this is that i get to stay away from the gym for the whole week, or at least 'till i'm positive that the guys at the locker won't think that i have chicken pox when they see me without my clothes on.

got tons of digital pics to share.  will have them posted on a photo album here on xanga as soon as i get the chance to sort them out.

  • I hope they are not itchy or painful. Hopefully they'll go away soon.

  • I'm sure you still look good without your clothes on though!

  • Jellyfish! Yikes. It could have been worse, trust me. I once got stung in the face. OUCH.
Here's hoping you're better by this weekend. I'm looking forward to the photos! I love Sumatra.

  • I hate those things. We get them here every once in a while. There is a lot of research going into the increase in jellyfish numbers in the seas due to overfishing, and the balance they upset when they bloom over normal population levels.

Any excuse not to go to the gym is good enough. Don't be afraid of your bespotted body... enjoy the effects whilt they last; laugh at it, play connect the dots with a washable marker... :)

I was hit by a box jellyfish when I was about 9 and my grandmother made me sit down and have smelly mangrove mud smeared on my leg and let it dry to suck out the poison; it worked well. But those little orange bastards' stings don't show up till later, when that treatment is too late...

  • Have you check with doctor. ?
Well hope u have a great fun.

  • i did, not a regular doctor, but a chinese medicine doctor. after a week of treatment without pills the spots are almost gone now. have a few more days before i switch my strict vegetarian diet (sensei's order) back to normal. i'm always opt for a medical treatment without taking any medication.

  • play connect the dots?? ha, ha... you really know how to cheer me up. thanks.

  • thanks carey, i'm much much better now. the skin blemishes are almost gone. gee, can't imagine getting sting on the face. definately OUCH!!

  • ha, ha... thanks for the wonderful thought. but i can assure you it was way the opposite. believe me, i couldn't even stand looking at myself. thank god it's all over now ;)

  • they did itch a bit, for 2 days afterwards. i got it on a saturday, didn't feel anything until the next day. went for a medical treatment on tuesday and the itch was gone by wednesday. phew!

  • you haven't updated yet. Hope everything is well with you.

  • yeah, i know. been too preoccupied with other things and too lazy to post anything so i've been procrastinating my duty on xanga. haven't even checked out other people's blogs 'till now and found one of yours... you got demoted?? so sorry to hear that. but then on your other blog you're actually enjoying your hours of work as a manager?? i'm getting confused...
