  • Bite me.

I laid her down gently. Her long thin hair brushed against my arms and felt soft. I bent down and smooched her on the top of her head. She’s just too adorable to resist. She turned around. She looked at me intensely. And without warning, she growled and BIT me.

The shih tzu returned my affection with a quick nasty bite. It stung. I bled. She left three little bite marks on my right cheek.

Not wanting to risk getting rabies, I went to the nearest hospital for a vaccine. I went to three different hospitals before I found one that actually provided a vaccine for rabies. And the stuff was NOT cheap.

For a full treatment, four shots of rabies vaccine are required within a three-week period. I’ve had three so far. My one last shot is due in two weeks.

I was told that rabies can be transmitted through bodily fluid, IF and WHEN one is found positive. This is scary. Not wanting to risk anything, the day after I got bitten I also went to my local clinic to get a transfusion, to clean out my blood. I had it three days in a row. My Chinese doctor recommended it.

I don't know what brought this unfortunate incident. I’ve been good. Real good. I still remember how the dog looked at me after she landed that nasty kiss. Her evil stare was saying YOU DESERVED IT. Sigh… chicks can be so cruel sometime.

  • I don't believe you Rudyyyyyy.  I think some drunk and horny vampire bit you in the face instead of your neck.

On a serious note - I hope the treatment goes well.  I would also ask the owner of the dog to be careful too.

  • Ouch! But isn't getting a rabies shot *and* cleaning the blood counter productive? Does it also not flush out the antibodies? I mean, maybe I see things too naive.

@ElusiveWords - Something tells me it was Rudy's dog.

  • I felt bad for laughing out loud as I read this.

  • glad you're ok

  • My girlfriend has a habit of getting up close and personal to dogs and sure enough, she has been bitten.. I always tell her that its not wise to do that because dogs may seem cute, but at times sense stuff that turns them against us. So Rudy, keep your distance and you won't get bitten. You were lucky in more ways than one. Dogs have tons of germs in their mouths which usually brings about swelling in the bitten area.

  • Good that you are OK. I have never had a bad experience with a dog or any animal for that matter. But your story is a wakeup call.

  • If they're not humping you, they bite you. lol You don't have luck with dogs on second thought you get a lot of dog action. jk. hope the treatment goes well.

  • Rudy, omg, what a nasty bite. So sorry that happened to you. Keep that dog at a distance please. Please keep us posted.

  • Aw, sorry for your misfortune.

My cat attacks me all of the time, but it is my fault because I periodically go crazy.  He's trying to calm me down.  I never hurt him.  He's just protesting.  He knows that he has to crawl on me and lick me as well.  If I start laughing too much, he comes and lays on me.  He says, "stop."

This does have an interesting quality in that it makes them respect me, and they bond to me like nothing else.  i've been crazy with two cats.  We've been a team.

  • I thought that was a cat when I started reading....lucky that the bite is on your cheeks and missed the eye area! Well, maybe you should teach her a lesson?  Get well soon!

  • Oh, you poor thing! Sorry to hear about the dog bite. Is the vaccine IV or into intramuscular?

  • oh dear......get well soon....!

  • Wow that is such an unfortunate event. You definitely went through a whole process afterwards to get the things you needed to protect yourself, but that was definitely a great idea. While I'd bet you were just fine, you did the right thing by seeing a doctor and getting the things you need to get..... it's always best to take the precautions necessary and avoid possible issues in the future.

I can sort of relate to how you feel. At the beginning of the year I was giving my cat some kisses and I'm not sure what happened, something must have spooked her or something but she scratched me by my eye and I was bleeding quite a bit. I was very lucky though as she just missed my eye. I had a mark there for a few days but it eventually healed and I was as good as new.

As lovable as animals are sometimes they get scared or they act in a certain way. Luckily these occurrences are so rare, but still not much fun to go through. Hopefully you are feeling great now and you won't have to go through that again. Take care and have an awesome weekend, bye for now.

  • Dude that sux! What a mean little B!!! *BOOT!*

  • @stevew918 - ouch indeed.  n it was my sis dog.

@ElusiveWords - i can only wished it was a horny vampire :)  the owner is my sis.

@beowulf222 - it was an intramuscular shot and was done the day before i had my transfusion.  and so the vaccine was already in me.  the transfusion was just a precaution to clear up the blood from any possible virus.  that's all.  the dog belongs to my sis and she is a clean dog.  so i wasn't worried.

@Momoiscool - i'm glad to know i'm able to amuse you, moses :)

@NIMOnkey - thanks, mark.  it's all in the past now.  n the bite marks have cleared up nicely.

@catstemplar2 - yeah, i'm lucky.  then again, that was very unexpected.  it was my sis' dog.  usually i had no problem playing and kissing her.  it was just she was not in the mood, i guess.  this particular dog is very moody.

@Fatcat723 - that's cause you've got your inner peace, robert. and dogs can probably can sense it.  so they probably feel more at ease when you are around them :)

@oxyGENE_08 - dog action??  haha... gene, i assume that's all the kind of reaction YOU've been getting?

@ZSA_MD - thanks for the concern, zakiah.  the bite marks have cleared up nicely.  it was my sis' dog.  and she is a clean dog.  so i'm not worried.  but yeah, very moody this one.  you never know when it is safe to play around with her.

@Colorsofthenight - with that cat looks so adorable, one would not think of anything nasty.  glad to know you and your cats have a close bond and understanding.  i can only wish to have the same with this dog.  it's my sis' dog.  very moody this one.  thank you for stopping by.  i really appreciate it.

@CurryPuffy - teach her a lesson?  gary, my sis would kill me.  its her dog.  and this dog is very unpredictable so one would never know when it is NOT safe to play with her.  usually there is no problem.  guess i caught her on her moody day.

@christao408 - intramuscular shots, chris.  on my upper arm.  n didn't hurt a bit (me trying to sound brave ;)

@agmhkg - thanks, angel.  the bite marks all cleared up nicely.  n so far haven't seen the dog since then.  it's my sis dog.  but chances are will later this week, as the dog gets dropped off at my house once in a while.

@kyle061685 - OUCH.  sorry to hear of your incident with your cat, kyle.  good thing she missed your eye.  phew!  the dog belongs to my sis and she is a clean dog.  i mean, she doesn't even go out for a walk.  she's more like a cat than a dog.  so i wasn't worried about getting rabies.  but several people suggested that i should get the vaccine shot anyways, as a precaution. and so i did.
@Scrooge0 -  yeah, yingo.  you can say that again.  very moody, this one.

  • thanks for the update.  good on you

  • @ZSA_MD - and thanks for the rec, zakiah :)

  • Shih tzu's can be vicious. Glad you're OK!

  • @CareyGLY - thanks carey.  yeah, that one can be vicious indeed.

  • Bitches be crazy, man. So glad I'm gay... and a cat person.

  • Cats for the win...

    sorry... must have been hard

  • @secade - hahaha... yes, i'm glad you are too, but i'm more of a dog person :)

@Devilzgaysianboi - what's with the cat's fan on xanga?  anyways, it wasn't a big deal, actually.  i wasn't even worried.  it's my sis dog, so i know she's clean and i'm safe.  but the next time she does it to me again, she'll get a spanking ;p

  • I absolutely love Shih Tzus, but that looks so nasty (by the way, I got a thrill that I saw your face. I know, I'm sick.)

Hope your body is fine and hope it doesn't leave any scars on your face.

  • @stepaside_loser - hahaha... glad i could excite you, andrew.  even just for a moment.  i'm all fine now.  and no, no visible left over scar from the incident.  at least not that i notice.

  • @rudyhou - Good And, oh yeah, blood on a man's face! Total turn on. Just kidding.

  • @stepaside_loser - hahaha... ooooh, andrew.  i think i know what fetish you're into ;p
