Angkor Temples.
The following are images from the various Angkor temples in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Those that I had a chance to visit include: Angkor Thom, Angkor Wat, Bakong, Bayon, Banteay Kdei, Banteay Srei, Beng Mealea, Preah Khan, Preah Ko, Ta Keo, Ta Promh. All of these temples represent a cultural exemplary of the Khmer Empire (now known as Cambodia) in South-East Asia during the 9th-14th centuries.

Brings back fond memory of my visit. Amazng i was watching Tony Bourdain: No Reservation tV show on Cambodia. Did you try some of the local food?
I would love to spend sometime visting the temples and even trying the local food.
You need a pass to visit? That cat photo looks awesome.
I like the various temple photos you took, very haunting images. I have visited this place three times so far, very fascinating indeed!
I've always wanted to go to Cambodia but my friends are too scared of landmines. I know it's already safe but people associate Cambodia with landmines so I can't blame them.
nice pictures. a lot of hindu influence apparently. the red chili on the stone looks great.
Wonderful, hopefully one day I'll visit these wonderful places and Asia in general, its my dream. I live in the wrong side of the world!
I've wanted to visit ever since I saw the film In the Mood for Love by Wong Kar Wai! Maybe one of these days!
Very very beautiful.
Wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing!
I should really do some reading up on Cambodia as there is so little I know about the country. I remember in high-school history class I learned about the government there, Khmer Rouge, but aside from that, and hearing about Anchor Wat, I really don't know anything about such a fascinating country.
It must have been such an incredible experience to get to explore not only one, but various temples. And it's clearly evident that it's a much see site for anyone in this planet who has any interest in culture and history ! What amazing photos. I would definitely love to get to go to Cambodia to explore those amazing temples and the country in general. Take care and have a wonderful weekend, bye for now.

I just have to get over there for a visit. No two ways about it.
@stevew918 - @Fatcat723 - yeah, i did sample many local dishes. unfortunately, not as great as i originally thought it would be. i find it somewhere between chinese and thai in cooking style, but not as powerful in flavor.
@beowulf222 - you can either buy individual ticket at each of the temple sites, or you can buy a 4-day pass for ALL temples, which what i did.
@CurryPuffy - three times??!! wow i'm way behind. i would really like to go back to enjoy them again.
@oxyGENE_08 - the many temple sites open for tourists are safe. they have been cleared of land mines before they are approved for tourism, especially now that they are UNESCO protected.
@ZSA_MD - thank you, zakiah. and for the rec also. it was a great experience for me. the many temples there looked wickedly haunting and mesmerizing.
@Kliente2 - lol. there are plenty great places there in USA that i have yet to visit. also UNESCO protected sites. you have the advantage by living there. try to visit them when you can.
@Xx_DeUce_xX - now THAT is a good movie. i love them both leading actors. they are by far my favorite hongkong actors.
@icepearlz - thank you. yes, they are indeed. probably the best temple sites i have ever been in my life.
@CareyGLY - thank you. it's my pleasure, carey
@kyle061685 - cambodia has a pretty bad rap due to its history of deaths and land mines. but the temples are really worth a visit. and i'm glad i made it happened.
@christao408 - definitely. especially when you are so near.
If only those walls and stones could talk. They look like they've seen so much! Fantastic share, thank you for posting them.
A bunch of my friends went there after Thailand. :-
Going to hear lots of drug talk for weeks to come...
@paperblanks - you welcome. glad you liked the post.
@Wangium - yes, it is very near to thailand. drug talk? lol. seems like thailand is a better traveling choice for them than angkor temples.
